Dental decay

Decay can often be caught and treated with routine dental check-ups. However, when decay is left untreated, a dentist may recommend extraction. Without intervention, decay can lead to serious complications, pain and discomfort for your child, which is why it needs to be addressed right away.

Broken tooth

Kids can be...well, kids! Sometimes children get hurt duringsports or activities, or slip and fall when playing. When physical trauma breaks the tooth, it may need to be removed. This is especially true of baby teeth that were going to come out on their own eventually.

Impacted tooth:

Most people are familiar with the term "wisdom teeth extractions". Many times a child’s jaw structure is too small to accommodate for adult teeth, and their dentist may recommend an extraction. This can minimize crowding and the need for orthodontics in the future.

Braces:

After your child's baby teeth are lost, your dentist may feel extraction is the best course of action to make braces or orthodontics easier to place and to better align their smile.
